Avery Island | New Iberia | Jeanerette | Delcambre | Loreauville | Lydia

New Iberia, the parish seat of Iberia Parish, lies on the banks of Bayou Teche. Iberia Parish's culture is a mixture of French, Spanish, and Acadian influences which results in a blend of Old World heritages and the spirit of young America. New Iberia was incorporated in 1836. In1868, with the creation of Iberia Parish, it became the parish seat. Noted for our warm hospitality, a trait inherited from our early settlers, New Iberia is fondly called "The Queen City of the Teche" Iberia Parish is noted for its delectable French-Creole cuisine, particularly its seafood. You’ll be rewarded with history and culture, a feast for the senses - sights, sounds, tastes - unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.
