By Lorraine and Howard Kingston, Owners

Books Along the Teche Owners Lorraine and Howard KingstonBooks Along The Teche opened its door in April 1990. The bookstore was a dream of the owner Lorraine Kingston. We have been located on Main Street New Iberia since day one.

Although we are a small store and cannot stock every book, we do have excellent customer service and can order any book and can get it in two days. We have a great customer base here in our hometown.

We can locate and order "out of print" books for anyone looking for an old favorite. We can also get autographed copies of any customer's favorite author.

We specialize in James Lee Burke's novels. We were introduced to Mr. Burke's novels by several of his relatives who live in the area when we first opened and became fans of his right away. Jim has had many autographing receptions in the store over the years.

Jim now signs his latest books at his home in Montana and ships them back to us to ship to his many fans.

We have accumulated a mailing list over the years of about 1000 fans who can order his books from us and we will ship them worldwide. We send his books to fans as far away as Australia and Norway. Not a week goes by without a new or old fan of Jim who traveled to New Iberia and Iberia Parish, just to see the area he writes about and experience the culture, that will stop in the store to visit and swap stories.

We were honored to be invited to help plan the Books Along the Teche Literary Festival, which is held in late March and early April every year. We handle the bookfair which takes place on the Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street New Iberia, between Iberia Street and The Shadows-on-the-Teche.James Lee Burke Dave Robicheaux Books Posters at Books Along the Teche
