Shadows-on-the-Teche Plein Air 2024
The Shadows-on-the-Teche Plein Air Painting Competition will take place March 9-16, 2024. Visitors are invited to travel around the seven-parish area and watch artists paint en plein air. You'll even have the chance to own a piece of the week's creations at the 10th annual Awards Reception and Fine Art Sale, which will be on Friday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Shadows Visitor Center (320 E. Main Street, New Iberia).

Shadows Spring Arts & Craft Fair 2024
The Shadows-on-the-Teche Spring Arts and Crafts Fair will take place in the Shadows gardens on Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Vendors from around Louisiana will display and sell their original work. A variety of hand-crafted products will be available for sale, and just in time for Easter, family BBQs, and the beginning of spring!

Lives changed overnight and we’re still not sure how life will look post pandemic. Milestones such as weddings and graduations were postponed or cancelled, and home became our sanctuary.  The pace of life slowed down allowing time for families to reconnect. Lt. Gov. Kicks off National Tourism Week at Tabasco in New Iberia
To celebrate 150 years of both Iberia Parish and Tabasco® brand Pepper Sauce, Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser will kick off his statewide tour on Avery Island on May 7 from 9-11 a.m. with a breakfast event at Restaurant 1868. Iberia Parish is partnering with the Lafayette Convention & Visitors Commission to welcome the Lt. Gov. to the Acadiana region for the event.

Artists in Residence Find Inspiration at The Shadows (Interview)
This past spring, National Trust Historic Site The Shadows in New Iberia, Louisiana, welcomed two artists in residence as part of the yearlong Art & Shadows program, funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Visual artist Lynda Frese and fiddler David Greely were selected for the program and have been working at The Shadows to create new works within their respective mediums inspired by the site's history.
